Remember my Rustic Lace Wedding Backdrop? I used it for another purpose in my home and I love it! When I decorated for my wedding I used the same color scheme that my house is decorated in. A lot of the decor I used in my wedding I was able to use in my house or my home decor was used in my wedding. I made a lot of the decor for my wedding and it didn’t make sense to me that I would put in all that work just to be used for one event.

I purchased the shelf from Hobby Lobby during 50% off sales, the glass containers at the local thrift store, painted the jar gold, and the “wash” sign was $2 at a yard sale.

I had originally wanted to make an accent wall in my daughter’s bedroom and that didn’t work out because the measurements wouldn’t work. Then I just tried to sell the backdrop. I sold the floral frame but no one would buy the wood so I just held on to it. One day my husband was looking for a project and I ALWAYS have something up my sleeve;) We ended up making this accent wall in our bathroom/laundry room.

We only purchased the 1 x 3’s to screw the backdrop boards to. He whipped out this project in about two hours! It made such a cute statement in the not so cute room.

He’s such a good sport.
